What’s coming on Youtube

It’s been exciting (and a little challenging at times!) getting some of the material from the school incursions up on Youtube in the past few days, but I’ve also included a couple of clips dealing with some quirky etymological stories - a lifelong interest of mine.

Another keen interest of mine, for a long time, has been the various linguistics competitions held both in Australia and overseas. In recent years I’ve contributed some puzzles to these myself.

Starting very soon, I’ll be presenting some past puzzles from these competitions on the blog and on Twitter, and providing some “worked solutions” on Youtube a few days later. One of the things I would love to accomplish through the Language Garden is to get aspiring language hounds to take part in these competitions - or contribute to them!
